Paradiski Cable Slackline - Exclusive Highline in the French Alps

Paradiski is a ski resort in the Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps offering uninterrupted skiing in the resorts of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne. Last Monday, the Paradiski resort experienced an unusual breathtaking Slackline show. Two French Slackliners, Julien Millot and Tancrède Melet, made an impressive transition of the 2.5 cm wide cable, all this at an altitude of 380 meters, and a Highline walk length of more than 60 meters.

The Vanoise Express is a double-decker cable car that links La Plagne with Les Arcs ski resorts in the Alps. It is acting as a vital link in the Paradiski area. Cable was suspended between two funicular cabins of the the Vanoise Express, "adapted" for the occasion by designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

The area has been connected by the Vanoise Express cable car since 2003. Thanks to the connections, the whole resort has 160 lifts and 425 km of slopes. 152 blue / green (light) runs, 79 red (intermediate) and 22 black (difficult) trails.

The complexity of this trick lies in the line´s constant motion and instability. But these two professional highline specialists are among the best in the world, so they met with the problem right, showing full confidence. The excellent Slacklining performance was applauded by numerous spectators, some of them obviously very scary during the guys´walk. In fact there was no risk at all, as both athletes were attached to a rope.
