The Most Anticipated Girls' Snowboard Competition
The event was open to a total of 50 riders who gathered from North and South America for the most awaited all girls’ competition in the country. The start must have been delayed due to adverse weather as the competitors braved temperatures of -36°c; the mountain waited a few hours before it was safe to open lifts to the public.
Rail Jam
The day started off with the rail jam as the girls hiked a set up consisting of a flat-down box and an urban down-flat-down and down rail to keep toasty. Whistler’s Breanna Stangeland locked down first place with a switch front blunt same way on the down bar.

Slopestyle
The slopestyle contest was held in the afternoon once it warmed up a few degrees. Ontario’s Samm Denena took home the $2000 prize for first place with a 50-50 on the flat-down, followed by a clean backside 360 and a backside rodeo 5. Second place was awarded to Breanna Stangeland and third to Quebec’s Laurie Blouin. Katherine Lacroix Vogel mertited $100 and some Dakine luggage for her frontside 720 sweeping up the Dakine Best Trick Award. Super stylish Steph Haines claimed the Nixon Style Award and took home a Nixon Blaster.

Wrap Up
The day wrapped up with a VIP party for the competitors at the Billabong Store in Banff. The girls enjoyed snacks, drinks, and were pampered with a hair stylist and makeup artist before enjoying Banff’s nightlife.
