Mountain biking

The Toughest Freeride MTB Competition in the World is Here!

Your heart rate is high, adrenaline fills your veins and your mind is totally blown. No you are not on drugs; you are riding your bike down a mountain that doesn't like to conquer easily. There are drops, canyons and rocks everywhere you look and you are bombing the terrain like if it was your last day on this planet. And if you make it half way through, thanking God you've survived, there is this massive canyon gap at the bottom that will put your nerves into real test...... So you better step on it because you need to be quick for that last jump that is likely to be the biggest thing you've ever ridden. And if you don't make it, chances that you will be left only with bruises and maybe a broken rib if things go bad are low. But you know that and therefore can't afford a single hesitation; you do it either now or never......Arguably the biggest event on the mountain biking calendar is here and above lines is just a fraction of what this annual madness in Utah's desert is all about. It's about blood, dust and glory.

After a long and spectacular season on the FMB World Tour, the invite list for already the 10th edition of Red Bull Rampage, the world’s toughest freeride MTB event, has been set. Pre-qualified athletes like defending champ Andreu Lacondeguy, two-time champ Kyle Strait and regular contender for best trick Cameron Zink will come back to face a long list of athletes looking to become king of the mountain.

And who's going to be the fastest, most daring rider this time? This unique contest that determines the best overall mountain bike rider – one who can combine skills from downhill freeride, slopestyle, dirt jumping and racing - is once again going to be set against the picturesque backdrop of the Southern Utah landscape, bringing slopestyle riders, downhill racers and natural-terrain freeriders together in one big-mountain test on near-vertical ridges.

Kyle Strait has seen, and done it all in his long, cross discipline bike career – starting his racing career at 11, he is currently the only person to win Red Bull Rampage twice.

Total of 42 daring mountain bikers will blow the doors off what is possible on two wheels, unleashing some of the biggest moments the sport has ever seen. Mark your calendars folks; October 17th is around the corner. In the meantime, check the highlight reel from last year. Those of you who won't make it on site can tune in live across the globe and watch an event considered the pinnacle of freeride mountain biking.
