BlackHawk Ranch
The training is done on the BlackHawk Ranch, a beautiful scenic terrain situated in Valley Springs, California. BlackHawk chose this location because of its micro-climate, which is flyable nearly 300 days out of the year. The area has predictable, smooth winds and there is also a nearby lake which is a favorite among students for ground training.
Before you launch on your own, you'll get towed first; towing is a safe way to simulate flight without the use of a motor and BlackHawk uses a boat and land winch for getting you safely in the sky, under the watchful eye of an instructor. The training field is large enough to accommodate a class of up to 6, however, typically the limit class size is 3 students at a time max. to ensure that each individual receives personal and one-on-one experience. And trainings are available 7 days a week.
The Powered Paragliding Course
The full course provides the skills and knowledge you need to confidently fly on your own. You will learn about the equipment, launching, and landing, and get the fundamentals of maintenance, weather, and many other tricks that would take years to learn on your own.
In addition to the course, BlackHawk also offers free refresher courses to all of their students. Just give BlackHawk crew a call and spend a day or more working with their instructors to get you over whatever hurdle you need practice with.
