Perfect spots for kitesurfers
Le Morne
Almost every kitesurfer who has been to Mauritius will tell you that the best spot for the sport is at Le Morne. And truly, probably the best kiteboarding area in Mauritius is located here. Le Morne fabulous lagoon is ideally protected by a beautiful reef and is literally created just for kitesurfing. Its vastness ranks it among the most attractive kitesurfing destinations in the world. Its on the north-windward side of the island and thanks to its conditions it is a host of the KSP World Pro Kite Surfing Tour. Some people call this place a „kitesurfing stadium“ created by nature itself. A top spot. Adrex.com cannot disagree, however, if you fancy a more lagoon-style, flat water riding without tourist lying around, there are plenty of spots along the Eastern coast too, offering excellent regular wind conditions, especially in winter months. You can find Le Morne´s lagoon position on the map of Adrex.com Locations...
Bel Ombre
If you decide to go south, the beach of Bel Ombre is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches of Mauritius. And another great insider tip for kite surfers. The lagoon is spacious, the wind cross-onshore and you are one of a few kite-surfers out on the water. You can find a reef with excellent wave riding conditions further out in the water. On top of that this kite spot works with an east wind as well and transforms it into an absolute perfect kite spot. Find also the Bel Ombre coast on the map of Adrex.com Locations...

Weather conditions
As Mauritius is located in the southern hemisphere, the summer and winter months are opposite to seasons in Europe, Asia and N. America. The average day temperature is between 20°C to 26°C. On the coast, the temperatures are higher by about 3 to 5 degrees. The northern and the western parts of the island are usually warmer and dry than the eastern and the southern regions, but windy and humid enough to make the climate not very tropical. The windy season is from May to October and the sea remains relatively warm throughout the year ranging from 26-29° C in summer to 23-25° C in winter.
