Eagle Man Dean Crosby - British Para & Hang Gliding Guru

Active Edge Paragliding & Paramotoring is a British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA) registered school based in the Yorkshire Dales, England. It's run by one of the most experienced BHPA Senior Paragliding Instructors and multiple British Paragliding Champion pilot, Dean Crosby. He's the only pilot in the UK to compete at National level in all three soaring disciplines, paragliding, hang gliding and gliding.

The Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas have some of the best Paragliding sites in the UK. The rolling hills and open moors provide gentle slopes and unobstructed landscapes for teaching beginners, while long ridges and beautiful countryside provide the perfect setting for soaring and cross country flight.

Active Edge are fanatical about flying and have been teaching paragliding, hang gliding and flying from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, for over 25 years. They offer various exclusive BHPA approved courses for those that want to learn to paraglide and fly 'solo' to the highest standards both in the Yorkshire Dales and overseas. All the teaching is conducted by Dean Crosby with help from other carefully chosen instructors.

Dean is soon to be in his 30th year of free flight, during this time he's captained both the British Hang Gliding and British Paragliding Teams. He's also been British Paragliding Champion and British Paragliding Cross Country Champion in 1993. Today when many instructors rarely fly, Dean is still fanatical about cross country flying and was recently crowned 2006 British Paragliding Cross Country Champion.

Dean Crosby has served on the prestigious BHPA Flying and Safety committee being responsible for Pilot Training. He is the only pilot to compete at national level in all three soaring disciplines. Dean has taught hundreds of people to fly from 70+ year old recreational pilots to the 2005 British Hang Gliding Champion. Many of his ex-students have competed in the British Paragliding Nationals with a number of them going on to represent Great Britain. He’s passionate about the sport that has shaped his life and honoured to introduce free flying to new pilots. He'll make sure you get the most out of your new adventure sport.
