The video itself is remarkable as well as jumpers' parents' point of view on their "strange" hobby. No wonder, BASE jumping is one of the most dangerous sport on earth. Ashley says: "I use to tell my parents I was off to camping when I first started". Marshall recalls: "my father’s reaction was like what you think you’re doing?" However, Marshall’s father climbs mountains sometimes too so the initial argument ended before it could even began.
Both jumpers also recollect their feelings from the beginnings. Hayley couldn’t wait to do her first jump and Marshall wanted to jump off of all buildings surrounding him.
Both also agree to trust nobody than themselves when it comes to jumping. They wouldn’t leave anybody to their fates and that’s what draws them towards the activity. Hayley admits that she feels more vulnerable when watching TV on her sofa, wasting time. "I will never stop doing what I love and if my children start base jumping too, I won’t be against it", she adds.
