Rafting Kennebec and Dead Rivers in Maine, USA
The place is called „The Forks“ and its western part is home of the Magic Falls Rafting Company. The company is located in 38 Dead River Rd, West Forks, Maine, USA. It has more than two decades long tradition of water sports. It was founded by David Neddeau in 1989 and at the beginning the company had only one raft and one trailer. Nowdays the company possesses 40 rafts, 25 inflatable kayaks, buses, vans, trucks and over 60 guides. Some of the guides were with the company from the very start, which makes them very experienced.
Magic Falls Rafting Company strives to individualize the experience by keeping their groups small. They aim first for safety. Second, as they put it: "for a rafting trip that touches the heart and excites the soul!"
Kennebec River Whitewater Rafting
The Kennebec River Gorge is one of the most beautiful in the East of USA with steep rock walls covered with conifers on both sides, and with many waves that are four to six feet high. You'll paddle into rapids with names like Big Mama, White Washer, and the famous Magic Falls. Then, with the rapids behind you, jump in and float with the current while you feel the power of the river, taking you downstream.
If you are a high adventure thrill-seeker, then the Magic Rivers Multi-Gorge trip is for you. You will raft the 5 mile Upper Kennebec Gorge through Class III to V whitewater in 13 ft. sport boats, take out at Carry Brook, return to Harris Station and ride the Upper Gorge again. Take out at Carry Brook and return to base camp. The Multi-Gorge adventure is offered any day excluding high-water release days.
Dead River Whitewater Rafting
The Dead River's spring runoff and heavy water releases make for the best wild whitewater adventure in New England. You'll cascade down 15 miles of almost continuous class II-V whitewater, in rapids like Spencer Rips, Hayden's Landing, Elephant Rock, the Mine Field and the infamous Poplar Falls, the longest continuous rapid in Maine. The ride is exhilarating. There are only a few release days available, and they quickly fill up, so make your reservations early.
The summer brings warmer weather and milder water on the Dead, a more technical river. This trip is great for adults who want to raft intermediate whitewater and it's also great for younger kids. This trip will offer you lots of fun-filled whitewater and is one of their most popular trips. It's also priced right for large groups and families. This is not a big whitewater experience.

Accommodations consist of the Dead River Lodge with king, queen and bunk rooms, the Rivers Inn, a housekeeping guesthouse for groups of 16 and, a campground with camping sites and cabin tents.
