The ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Russia
The competition is run on the Canoe Sprint and Rowing course at the Krylatskoe Canal Sports Complex that was used for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. Constructed on 1978 and recently renovated the venue boasts an impressive grandstand and excellent conditions for athletes and spectators.
José Perurena, ICF President, said, “It is great for our sport to be back in Moscow, previously all championships in Russia have been a very high level, I know this one will be no different.” The event also includes the Paracanoe class and will be used as an important milestone for many athletes aiming to book their place on the plane to Rio for the Paralympics Games in 2016.
The first race starts at 09:30 Thursday morning (Local time - GMT+4) with the Paracanoe K1 Men A 200m starting proceedings. The full schedule can be downloaded at organizer's website.
